Pulsara Around the World - May 2022

April Recap

The fourth month of the year proved to be an exciting month for Team Pulsara. While we only attended three conferences in person—and sponsored two virtual conferences—our teams were hard at work expanding the Pulsara platform to include new patient types that will enable your teams to scale as each patient case evolves.

Customer Success
LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg, Virginia, implemented Pulsara to successfully create a streamlined process for team communication around potential heart attack patients, leading to a record 14-minute door-to-balloon time for one of their STEMI patients.

"With this platform, I have the ability to see the EKG and activate the cath lab. All of this happens immediately so that it shortens the length of time it takes from the time the patient starts having the heart attach to the time they arrive at our hospital, to the time that we fix it. All of these times get shortened signifiantly with a platform like this." - Dr. John Patterson, cardiologist at LewisGale

New Patient Types
On the heels of our behavioral health patient type release in March, Team Pulsara released two new patient types in April. The first, toxicology and overdose, unites everyone required for each patient case, from consultants to toxicologists to EMS to poison centers, all one one patient channel. First responders can treat in place or securely consult via live video with poison control centers to determine the appropriate treatment and destination for the patient, ensuring proper and more efficient care.

A few days ago, we announced our second new patient type of the month, mass casualty/multiple patient incidents (MCI/MPI), to help teams scale during emergency response. With Pulsara, teams on the frontlines have the ability to scan public safety-issued wristbands and/or triage tags where they can add, track, and modify the patient's triage status all within the Pulsara platform. Plus, command centers can monitor what is happening on the scene and coordinate response with nearby hospitals and healthcare facilities.

Last but definitely not least, the SIIA CODiE Awards announced that Pulsara MED OPS is a finalist for Best Healthcare Technology Solution, with winners being announced in June.

April was a busy month for the team, and we have no intentions of slowing down. It's full steam ahead as we enter May, one of the busiest trade show months of the year for Pulsara.
