Joey is an avid saltwater kayak fisherman specializing in redfish with fly and spinning tackle. He is also a sporting clays and target shooting enthusiast -- but rest assured, both are relatively safe and most participants escape unharmed. Joey's family is the center of his life — including his wife, son, 3 stepchildren, 2 daughters-in-law, 3 step-granddaughters, and 2 step-grandsons.
Joey started his career as a Firefighter/EMT-Paramedic in 1983. After a 13-year career in municipal emergency medical services, he joined an emergency physician staffing company in Louisiana. There, he served as risk manager, critical care education coordinator, and information systems architect, leading the company into electronic medical records development with deployment in hospitals around the state.
Later, Joey served as the Chief Intelligence/Operations Officer for the Louisiana Emergency Response Network (LERN), which coordinates patient transportation for trauma and time sensitive illness. He was responsible for research, planning, development, and implementation of technical operations for LERN Communication Centers.
Most recently, Joey served as the Director of Technology at Acadian Companies. Here, Joey worked on Computer Assisted Dispatch (CAD), telecommunications services, software programming services, network services, mobile computing and radio communications, and cybersecurity services. Joey was also responsible for the continuity of operations for 2 data centers, 4 secondary PSAP centers in 3 states, and IT service desk operations, ultimately supporting over 5,000 employees.
We are thrilled to have Joey on Team Pulsara.
