What Matters Most to EMS Crews? A Roundtable Discussion

These miscommunications cause frustrations among care providers, cause hundreds of thousands of medical errors every year, and ultimately cost the U.S. billions of dollars. In a webinar hosted by EMS World on Tuesday, November 12th at 1:00PM ET, we will learn how one department is changing this paradigm. During this roundtable discussion, experts will share their personal stories about breaking down communication silos in EMS, and how doing so can improve everything from first responder mental wellness and resilience to patient outcomes. The panel will consist of the following speakers:



Kris Kaull, BS, NRP, FP-C
Facilitator
Kris Kaull, BS, NRP, FP-C, has driven innovation and positive change in EMS for more than 26 years. After beginning his career as a firefighter and EMT, Kris started paramedic.com and co-founded EMS1.com. Kris is currently the Chief Marketing Officer at Pulsara, a healthcare and EMS tech start-up. He has worked as a firefighter captain, paramedic, and ambulance service director and, most recently, practiced as a critical care flight paramedic covering southwest Montana and Yellowstone National Park.


Justin Reed
Panelist
Justin Reed is the Assistant Chief of EMS with the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department in Cypress, Texas covering a population of more than 550,000. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the EMS/Fire industry. He is an ASM graduate and an honors graduate of Western Carolina University earning a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care.


Courtney Chumley
Panelist
Courtney Chumley is a District Chief with the Cy-Fair Fire Department in Cypress, Texas. She has more than 20 years’ experience in EMS with 15 years’ experience in EMS Management. She is an ASM graduate. She is a current member of the SETRAC EMTF-6 Viper Team. Courtney is a Client Development Specialist with Pulsara covering the Houston region.


Mark Price
Panelist
Mark Price is the Quality Coordinator and a Paramedic for Cy-Fair Fire Department in Cypress, Texas with 19 years of experience in the EMS industry. He chairs the Quality Committee for the National EMS Managers Association and is also a committee member for the South-East Texas Regional Advisory Council for injury prevention, cardiac, stroke, and pre-hospital care. He is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Care – Health Management concentration at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.


Dale Hart
Panelist
Dale Hart is a licensed paramedic with Cy-Fair Fire Department and has been with the department for 5 years. Prior to joining the fire department, he served in the Navy for 4 years as a Logistics Specialist going on four deployments to various regions of the world during his military career. Dale recently graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Health and Human Performance with a minor in Nutrition.


Mounang Desai, MD
Panelist
Dr. Mounang Desai has held executive level healthcare and operations management positions for more than 20 years. He is currently the President of Cypress Emergency Associates. He serves as the ER Medical Director and Director of Case Management of North Cypress Medical Center. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department since 2013.
