BOZEMAN, Mont. Pulsara, the leading telehealth and communication platform that connects teams across organizations, announced today the launch of a free funding assistance initiative to help healthcare organizations more quickly and easily secure COVID-19 funding. In response to the pandemic, the Federal Government has provided an abundance of healthcare and telemedicine funding to provide immediate relief, assist in COVID-19 recovery, as well as strengthen preparedness capabilities for the future. The process to find, filter, and determine funding eligibility for these and other opportunities can be formidable for many healthcare organizations, and many do not realize that they qualify. This free funding resource aims to simplify the process, especially as it relates to real-time care team communication and telehealth grants.

As the COVID-19 pandemic promises to challenge our nation and healthcare system for the foreseeable future, streamlined access to this much-needed funding becomes more vital than ever. “The amount of money available for recovery and preparedness is unprecedented, but many organizations don’t know which grants to apply for or how to get started,” said Anna Larson, Program Director of Strategic Initiatives at Pulsara. “We’ve created specific guides for each funding opportunity, with tips for the application process, deadlines, links to program websites, and other essential information—all to help our communities more easily find the funding they need.”

The Federal Government has enacted three separate coronavirus-relief packages at a total cost of more than $2 trillion. The most recent legislation—the CARES Act—provides $1.8 trillion in direct aid to individuals and businesses, the largest stimulus package in U.S. history. Pulsara reports that the opportunities for healthcare organizations are widespread, and barriers and requirements are lower than ever. “Many healthcare organizations don’t know they qualify for funding, and others who feel overwhelmed or uncertain about whether they qualify should also take a second look,” shared Larson. “They may be surprised at what they're eligible for, especially if they collaborate regionally.”

After extensive research into the details of this multi-organizational funding, Pulsara has identified the most relevant funding resources for medical operations, hospitals, and EMS/Prehospital/MIH-CP, along with the information needed to apply. This initiative allows the interested organization to quickly decide which opportunities best fit their needs; then the Pulsara team will additionally help them figure out how to tell their story, make their application competitive, and receive the relief they need. According to Pulsara’s website, available funding opportunities they can provide assistance with include:

  • COVID-19 Telehealth Program
  • Distance Learning and Telemedicine
  • Telehealth Network Grant Program
  • Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program
  • Rural Emergency Medical Communications Demonstration Project
  • And more

Examples of funds earmarked or provided to state, local, tribal and territorial governments, as well as to hospitals, other health care providers and state hospital associations include the $100 billion HHS CARES Act Provider Relief Fund; $150 billion Treasury Coronavirus Relief Fund; and the $730 million CDC Crisis Response Cooperative Agreement, among many others.

“At Pulsara, we are a purpose-driven company, and that purpose is to improve the lives of patients and caregivers through innovative communication,” said Dr. James Woodson, Founder and CEO of Pulsara. “Creating a grant funding resource like this is a natural extension of our purpose and we are honored and excited to be able to support our communities in accessing this vital funding.”
