New Research Shows Major Improvements in Rural STEMI Treatment Times With Pulsara

...You know there is! EMS World recently published an article which highlights the changing technologies and protocols for managing stroke care. New embolectomy studies such as MR. CLEAN, ESCAPE, EXTEND IA,
SWIFT-PRIME, and REVASCAT (see Pulsara's previous post for more details) have shown incredible promise in that patients who recieved the various embolectomy treatments were roughly twice as likely to experience a positive outcome compared to those patients who received IV tPA alone. In fact, all of these studies were stopped early due to efficacy.
These therapies are exciting, but must be applied properly to acheive the best possible outcome. As the EMS World article points out, embolectomy treatment has a non-linear decay effect, where people see much better outcomes the sooner they recieve treatment. This places a significant responsibility on EMS to quickly and efficiently transmit potential STEMI and ELVO (emergent large vessel occlusion) patients to the best treatment center for their condition.
The EMS World article states that it is "time for a revolution in our systems of care" and highlights that using Pulsara, "paramedics are harnessing the full capabilities of smartphones for rapid prehospital notification to the ED and acute stroke team members, consisting of the neurologist and neurointerventional surgeon on call." Further, the article points out that using the RACE score through Pulsara, as well as the platform's other functions will "trigger early and parallel activation of the cath lab team for faster delivery of treatments to stroke patients with ELVO."
Are you ready and able to keep up with the changing face of stroke care? When every second means tissue loss, acting quickly and precisely is your patient's best chance at a normal life post-stroke. Let Pulsara help you.
