There has long been a debate over how many words a video is worth.
If “a picture is worth a 1,000 words,” then if we strung 10 pictures together would that technically be a video's worth? It's not that simple to quantify, because video capabilities are priceless. When I look back at home videos of my children, for example, I realize they are literally priceless to me and my family. Using video to capture a moment lets the viewers transport themselves into that moment, whether in the past, or in real time.
But beyond capturing these treasured family moments, video is also instrumental in healthcare, particularly in training new clinicians or in learning from others. This is not a new concept.
But what HASN'T been done before is leveraging the power of real time video across ALL healthcare entities.
What if we could put this power in the hands of a first responder who needs the expertise of their medical director in the field? Or what if we leveraged real time video abilities to connect a remote ED with cutting edge stroke care? Well, that time is here!!
Now with Pulsara, we can make all of the above happen, and then some!! One day (in the not too distant future), someone's quality of life will be improved thanks to the abilities of connecting with real life experts via real time video.
Paramedics will connect with a trauma surgeon or ER physician in a situation they can’t possibly fully describe, but they CAN push a button to let the Physician see what they see. An ICU nurse will connect with a physician or healthcare entity that will help allow a husband or wife another day with their family.
That time is now. It’s about time.
