After an incredibly busy events year with 102 conferences, trade shows, and sponsorships, December was on the slower side for us, with one trade show - the National Healthcare Coalition Preparedness Conference.
What else has Team Pulsara been up to in 2025? Take a look below at our annual Year in Review.
2025 | A Year in Review
Celebrating Customer Successes
The annual Baker to Vegas Race brings in over 10,000 attendees who are spread out across a 120-mile road through Death Valley, the hottest national park in the United States. As you can imagine, providing medical services for an area that large, with so many runners, is no easy feat. Dr. Troy Pennington, who oversees the event, and a medical team of almost 200 volunteers are able to maintain situational awareness with the help of Pulsara and patient wristbands.
When a woman exhibited signs of a severe stroke, her husband's quick recognition, real-time communication, and coordinated effort between Metropolitan Emergency Services paramedics and the Baptist Health Medical Center - Little Rock stroke team contributed to her remarkable recovery. Thanks to the teamwork, powered by Pulsara, the patient was able to leave the hospital without any deficits. Read the full story here.

Teams at CommonSpirit Mercy Hospital in Durango, CO, and local EMS organizations have been hard at work this year to improve cardiac care in their remote Four Corners region. The results below demonstrate that while care teams often face challenges, collaboration, standardized processes, and real-time communication can help them provide faster, smarter care for their communities.
Mercy Hospital announced that they had partnered with local EMS organizations in February to improve cardiac care. Using Pulsara, EMS teams can transmit critical data directly from the field to Mercy Hospital's cardiac and emergency care teams, leading to improvements in patient outcomes, communication, and paramedic and EMT performance.
But that's not all! A study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology showed how the use of Pulsara in a STEMI-focused initiative reduced first medical contact-to-treatment times by as much as 31% and median FMC-to-device times dropped from 87-95 minutes to 60-78 minutes.
Case Studies
Our first case study from Hawai'i highlighted the efforts of teams at Hilo Benioff Medical Center to improve their already impressive stroke treatment times even further. After implementing Pulsara and streamlining communication and coordination among prehospital and hospital teams, HBMC achieved a 24-minute reduction in average door-to-need time for stroke patients.
CHI St. Joseph Health EMS in Texas combined Pulsara with Texas' emergency wristband system, creating a unified way to triage and keep track of 150+ patients a day during the Texas Renaissance Festival and 200+ patients during a concert. The results led the Texas Department of Emergency Management to leverage Pulsara alongside the statewide wristbands to assist a new regional emergency management group.
After seeing success with Pulsara in their STEMI program, St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR, expanded its use of the platform to include stroke care. Teams received earlier stroke alerts from EMS, prepped the CT faster, and implemented new strategies that maximized Pulsara's usage throughout the ED, all leading to improvements in DTN times, including a record DTN time of 18 minutes.
Our latest case study, published in November, shows how Cy-Fair Fire Department in Texas launched a new Door-to-Lobby protocol, powered by Pulsara, that resulted in a 77% reduction in average ambulance offload times from 45 minutes to just 10.2 minutes, 120+ successful lobby tranports, expansion of the program from 2 to 4 participating hospitals, and increased interest from EMS and hospital leaders nationwide.
Pulsara In the News
Shortly after going live with Pulsara, Norwich Township Fire Department in Ohio responded to a call. Adrian Lawrence was having a heart attack and went into cardiac arrest during transport. The crew used Pulsara to alert teams at Riverside Medical, who were ready and waiting when Adrian arrived. Not only did Adrian's case result in a 58-minute DTB time, but a life saved. Watch the full coverage here.
Teams in Texas have been conducting training exercises and using Pulsara throughout the drills.
The McAllen International Airport also held a full-scale drill, complete with 70 injured passengers (volunteers) and first responders from 27 agencies, who put Pulsara and patient wristbands to the test while they triaged and tracked patient movement, all within the platform.

In recognition of Stroke Month in May, HERLIFE Magazine published the article, "Stroke Awareness Month: Getting the Pulse on New Technology." The article interviewed William Evans, MD, PhD, and ABPN board-certified neurologist and vascular neurologist in Ocean Springs, MS, who discussed how medical teams use Pulsara in stroke patient care.
CommonSpirit St. Luke's Health-The Vintage Hospital in Texas published a story about Kay Rosensteel, a 75-year-old heart attack survivor. The story covers the different heart attack symptoms women feel, and how paramedics from Harris County Services District 11 used Pulsara to notify St. Luke's Health-The Vintage Hospital. Kay noted, "When we arrived at the ER, I could see they were lined up and ready for me. They just zipped me in there." Kay has since recovered and was the honored heart survivor at the American Heart Association's Northwest Houston Heart Walk.
